How to Dress for an Adventure Ride with Us

Welcome to the ultimate trail riding experience! Our rides are designed for experienced riders who seek adventure, exploration, and camaraderie. With groups always kept small, under six horses, you’ll find yourself among great riders who are ready for an exciting journey. We don’t stick to the same boring trails; we venture into new places, make friends, and have an amazing time. To help you fully enjoy this experience, here are some tips on how to dress for our adventure rides.

Essentials to Bring

Before diving into the specifics of your outfit, let’s start with what you should pack. Ensure you bring a backpack to carry your essentials:

  • Water and Snacks: Stay hydrated and energized throughout the ride.
  • Sunscreen: Protect your skin from the sun’s harsh rays.
  • Other Necessities: Any personal items you might need, like a first-aid kit or a camera to capture the beautiful scenery.

Footwear: Comfort and Functionality

While traditional horse riding boots are perfect for the arena, our adventure rides require a different approach:

  • Hiking Shoes or Boots: Choose comfortable hiking shoes or boots that you can walk in for extended periods. Remember, we might dismount and walk parts of the trail.
  • Stirrup Fit: Make sure your boots are less than 5 inches wide so they fit comfortably in the stirrups.

Clothing: Practical and Protective

Dressing appropriately is key to ensuring your comfort and safety during the ride:

  • Long Pants: Wear long pants to protect your legs from rubbing against the saddle and from potential scrapes or insect bites.
  • Long Sleeves: Opt for long sleeves to stay cool in the heat and provide extra protection from the sun.
  • Sun Protection: Sunglasses are essential to prevent headaches from prolonged sun exposure.
  • Face Mask or Bandana: Consider bringing a bandana or a face mask. Riding behind other horses can get dusty, and these can help keep you comfortable.

Additional Tips

  • Helmet: You should never ride without one. Not only it can protect you in an unlikely fall, but it can also protect your head from low-hanging branches, and from sun. If you don't own one we will always have some you can use with us.
  • Layers: Depending on the weather, layering can help you adjust to temperature changes throughout the day.
